we remain committed to the preservation of traditional and contemporary marine skills.
Whether you are a skilled craftsman or new to working with your hands, we have classes that will fit your schedule and level.
Youth programs are a major part of our mission and commitment to community.
Our two week Summer Youth Program is scheduled for the last week in July and first week in August.
If you would like to build your first boat, make a new set of oars, design a toolbox or even press your own skateboard, this class is right for you.
Check our events page for upcoming classes.
Our Saturday seminars cover a variety of topics and skills of interest to mariners.
They typically go from 10 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. and include coffee, snacks and a locally-catered lunch.
Stay tuned to our Events Page for all upcoming Saturday Workshops.
You are invited to email us with requests for programs on a particular subject.
We kindly ask that you pre-register for these events so that we may prepare accordingly. Register on our events page by following the link below or by emailing Info@spauldingcenter.org
We offer adult boat building skills classes all year long.
New and returning students work on projects based on interests and experience levels.
Past projects include a strip planked canoe, a rowing scull, and a ten foot lapstrake Lawton Tender. Ongoing is our restoration of the classic Bird Boat Mavis.
