Join us for an evening of wooden boats and sultry folk melodies from around the world. From misty Basque mountain melodies to 1960s Greek taverna songs, Brazilian Carnival tunes, Sephardic lullabies, and more, we’ll carry listeners across vast oceans; exploring the deep connections between ancient song traditions, wayfaring, and boat building. Food, wine, and beer by Sausalito’s own Port & Provisions, with musical guests Cantadora Sephardia, Angus Martin, and Kristine Barrett, with guest singers from Temple of Light Georgian Choir and the Headlands Community Folk Ensemble.
Masters & Mariners is a new music series held within the Spaulding Marine Center in Sausalito, CA that brings together Maritime Arts and Traditional Music from various locales around the world. A spin on the annual Master Mariners race on the San Francisco Bay, Masters & Mariners celebrates the connections between music and boats and their communities; fostering relationships with the public to engage with these unique traditional art forms.
