Monday Night Fab Lab

This is an all inclusive rolling workshop, accessible to beginner and intermediate fabricators, and will include lessons in hand and power tool safety, measurement, design, construction and finishing. During the class we will be using the professional workshop at the Spaulding Marine Center as well as learning about relatively-inexpensive hand and power tools you can use at home.

The Instructor: Brooke Marino has been teaching art, kayak building, and outdoor skills to youths and adults for three years, most recently leading the Spaulding Marine Center's Summer Sea Camps. She is excited to continue Spaluding's commitment to accessible and inclusive education.

The Lab will be (nearly) every Monday evening throughout the fall, from 6:30-8:30 pm, and can be attended on a rolling basis depending on the duration of the project selected.

Brooke has several project ideas that can be chosen from or modified, including plant/flower presses, bookshelves, leather bound journals, and bat boxes. Alternatively, you may work with her to plan and build something of your own design. Each student's first class will be focused on tool safely and developing a design plan and materials list. Family friendly. Youths over 12, parent-child, and couples welcome.

$50 per session; two session minimum:
