RESTORATION
The Spaulding Wooden Boat Center is committed to restoring and returning to active use on San Francisco Bay selected wooden yachts such as Freda through a pre-funded program.
SWBC also plans to restore significant SF Bay boats, focusing on SF Bay specific classes such as Birds and Bears, as well as Knarrs and other suitable boats.
A long-term goal is the restoration and maintenance of a fleet of small wooden boats which can be used to support various SWBC public programs.
In May of 2007, Lin and Larry Pardey entrusted the foundry casting patterns for their boat Taleisin to the safe keeping and management of the Spaulding Center. The patterns will be used for educational programs at the center by the Arques School and loaned to others who wish to have parts cast.
