VOLUNTEER AT THE SPAULDING CENTER
- Do you love history, boats and the sea?
- Do you have skills you are not using?
- Would you like to play a part in the preservation of the Sausalito waterfront and beautiful wooden boats?
- Would you like to assist with our outreach projects to the local community and with our youth programs?
At the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center, we build and restore historic wooden boats in a wonderful 1950’s era building. We educate the public about the wooden boat—building craft, history and culture in our working museum boatworks.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life
- You may be recently retired and want to share your skills and life experience
- You may be new to the area and want to meet people
- You may be returning to the work place and want to gain in skills and confidence before applying for a job
- Or you may be unemployed and looking for some work experience and a reference for your resume
Founded in 2002, we are a young nonprofit, but already we are helped by over 50 volunteers working in many different areas: administration, IT operations, crewing sailing boats, docent tours, historical archiving, boat restoration and teaching youth programs.
